Reggie: More Wii games on the way
Even though two full months in 2011 have passed, there really aren’t any Wii games to look forward to that have been announced by Nintendo of America. We know Skyward Sword will be released sometime this year… but what else? Well, we’re still not sure, but more software is definitely coming.
IGN’s Rich George, who participated in the latest Game Scoop podcast, briefly discussed a recent conversation he had with Reggie Fils-Aime. Basically, Nintendo of America’s COO said that more Wii games are on the way. Reggie’s full response is expected to be posted on IGN sometime within the next few days.
This year, Nintendo has only launched Mario Sports Mix for Wii, and have yet to announce additional software for the console. A couple of titles could be revealed through a simple press release, although the heavy hitters will most likely be saved for E3. It’s possible that Nintendo will localize two well-received RPGs for the system – Xenoblade and The Last Story – and/or release the new Kirby Wii title before 2011 ends. It’s likely that the company has a few secret titles in the works as well.

Mario Is In the Clouds!!!
In less than a month, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is going to be released for the Nintendo Wii. That games predecessor, Super Mario Galaxy, is the benchmark other Wii games aim to match. Simply put, Galaxy is the shit. It’s a beautiful game that is ridiculously fun to play. My sister and her son were over playing it this weekend, and I enjoyed just watching the game in action. The fact that Nintendo and Mario go together like peas and carrots leaves little doubt that Galaxy 2 will be just as gorgeous. Just as fun. Basically, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is also going to be the shit. If you have any doubt about that fact, follow the jump for the latest gameplay trailer and start counting the days until May 23. Enjoy, and stay thirsty my friends. Mario Gets His Cloud On!

The Wii good for more then just games yet again
Physios in Australia are using an alternative treatment to help them rehabilitate people who have had a stroke.
It turns out that the Wii Balance Board is a useable alternative to the lab-grade “force platforms” currently in use that cost £11,000. When re-teaching people how to stand and walk after serious accidents or strokes, it helps physios to be able to record how much weight a person is putting on each foot to judge how good their sense of balance is.
The cost of the official “force platforms” means that many physio clinics can’t afford them, where-as they can’t afford not to buy the Wii Fit package.

Xenoblade, The JRPG To Rule Them All!!
Japanese Role Playing Games, or JRPG’s as I like to refer to them, are a pretty big deal to a lot of people, especially Japanese people. The Japanese are also notorious supporters of all things Nintendo. I can only imagine the amount of tears that have been shed over the lack of substantial JRPG’s for the Wii. The PS3 and the 360 both have Final Fantasy they can wave in the face of Wii owners. Well, if you’re someone who’s been clamoring for the next major JRPG, then your wait will be over sometime this Spring when Monolith Software releases Xenoblade. If you’re someone who’s never really gotten into the JRPG genre, but have always wanted to play a game where the world is made up of the corpses of dead Gods, then Xenoblade may be for you. Head over to the official site for the game if you want more info on the game. (Side-note: You may need to speak Japanese as it’s a Japanese site. If for some reason you don’t speak Japanese, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t, you could head over to IGN for the details in boring old English.) Once you’ve done that, watch the trailer for the game below. Enjoy, and stay thirsty my friends.
